My Music

Original song: ‘Love a Bye’
Original lyrics, music, and performances by me.
Had the funny thought pop up in my head, where you sing children ‘lullabies’ to put them to sleep; what do you sing to a loved one? Especially one you can’t be with.
So my thought was, a ‘Love-a-bye’
I wish I could have afforded a real string section to back this one (and a real orchestration).
Vocal harmonies were the best I could do, sorry…
Original song: ‘Every Dream I Have is You’ [new mix]
Original lyrics, music, and performance by me.
Soft love ballad/anthem, with just a touch of electric guitar to lift it up.
(Sorry about the vocals; wrote and performed this in one evening. By the time I was singing, it was like 5AM and my throat was blown.)
Slow Western ballad ‘Planted’.
Original lyrics, music, and performance by me.
It’s really more like an old, tragic, Irish folk song, but with a country arrangement.
Original reggae song: ‘Simple Miracles’.
Original lyrics, music, and performance by me.
Just a fun, breathless look forward to a ‘dream life’ away on a island somewhere…
The hardest thing on this as far as production, was getting a good fretless bass performance and sound.
Original song ‘Dancing In My Car’.
Original lyrics, music, and performance by me.
Actually inspired by once seeing a couple in a small car with the music cranked up, sort of gyrating around like crazy. Fun little pop tune.
I just liked the visual of going on a date, cranking up the music, and having all these effects, lights, and lasers, and fog, and everything going off like a real club; getting more and more overblown.
Very happy with my live piano solo @1:52; very Nicky Hopkins inspired.
Car sound F/X performed on a vintage Sequential Circuits Prophet-600 Analog Synth.
Original song ‘Tiffany in Leather’.
Original lyrics, music, and performances by me.
I liked the contrast of a song about motorcycle riding done in a romantic/classical style.
Also the contrast of a very feminine name like ‘Tiffany’ sporting leather.
Although I did used to actually play French Horn; on this track I actually performed the French Horn part on keyboard.
